This is an incredibly important, but often neglected aspect of planning for our own needs at any age. For anyone that has been responsible for a loved one's end-of-life decisions, the burden is significantly reduced if supported by a clear Medical Power-of-Attorney with clear directives on end-of-life wishes. In addition, each of us have clear feelings on how and under what conditions we may want to be sustained with medical assistance. Without clear direction and authority, our wishes may not be known and/or followed.
